Personal Success Clues 🏴

On The Last Reflection

If ChatGPT can give you all the answers,

If AI can do/automate everything for you,

If information/degree was all you needed,

If you can figure things out on your own,

If you don’t need someone to tell you what to fix,

If you don’t need that course, community, or coaching,

If you don’t need to read more books.

Then why aren’t you:

Rich

Lucky

6-packed

Successful

Articulated

Happy

A lot of questions were raised… Very few answers.

I wanted you to think and sit on this for a couple of days before you read today’s newsletter.

This a newsletter for misfits,

Expect it to be daring,

Expect it to be thought provocating,

Expect it to change your perspective,

And most of all,

Expect it to CHALLENGE YOUR THINKING.

Success Leaves Clues

Let’s dive in

FIRST CLUE

I do agree that indeed you can figure out things on your own, but how long will it take?

Exactly.

Most people don’t associate value with their time.

If it takes you 50 years to get your first client, that’s 1000x more expensive than if you spend $1000 to get your first client in one month per say.

SECOND CLUE

Generic “me-too” content is everywhere but custom, tailor-fit content “for you only” is scarce.

Not all information is useful or actionable,

Not all information is designed with your best interest in mind,

Not all information can be applied.

If you don’t have a filtering system, you’re doomed.

THIRD CLUE

Knowledge is everywhere but self-knowledge is scarce.

To not be a commodity is to only be yourself.

But if you don’t take the time to discover who you are, and what makes you unique,

Your talent will be a gift well-wasted.

FOURTH CLUE

Not believing you can make it is exactly why you can’t.

You are getting in your own way.

You’ve developed a resistible mindset.

FIFTH CLUE

You are a lonely wolf. You walk alone.

You’ve swallowed the idea of those multi-millionaires who told you that:

“The path to success is a lonely path.”

That’s some of the most BS pieces of advice I’ve ever heard on the internet.

We are social creatures,

We used to gather in tribes to be safe, to hunt for food, and to grow our clan.

That idea never changed! it only developed into modern-day communities.

If you’re not part of a community with like-minded people, shared practices, and beliefs, you’re doomed.

FINAL CLUE

You like to get stuck in your head.

I forget who the author of this quote is but he lays it out beautifully:

“You question every belief you have, only the ones you truly believe, those you don’t tend to question.”

In other words,

You can’t see or connect the dots.

But your EGO is too big to ask for help.

Therefore no coach, therapist, or consultant can help you if you don’t give yourself permission to be helped.

On Purpose

I spot a mental model from Naval Ravikant about finding your way,

and it earned its place in this misfit way.

“People who ask for: book recommendations aren’t really serious about reading

People who ask for: stock tips aren’t really serious about investing

People who ask: what business should I build aren’t really serious about entrepreneurship

If you want to be amazing at something,

Then,

You have to find your own way there.

From a mechanical behavior-turning standpoint,

There are things that can be prescripted like riding a bike or using a computer.

“But when you venture into the realm of art in any form — be it in business or sports or in the context of finding peace in your life, those things cannot be prescriptionized.” – Kapil Gupta

I can’t watch Roger Federer play Tennis and then swing the racket the same way. Nor will any description from him on how to swing the racket will help me swing it the right way.

We could ask Warren Buffer why he invested in a certain company and he may provide us with a mental model.

But there are just as many details to Buffet’s thinking and decision-making as there are to Roger Federer’s body running around a tennis court hitting a ball.

The greatest things that you do are the things you don’t know how you* do them.

The details are not copyable nor transmissible.”

– Naval Ravikant

Transparent Segway:

Even the mental models shared in this newsletter will not help you.

You don’t need another newsletter to change your business or life.

Even if it actually helps and makes you successful,

Would you then attribute all your success to me?

Will you feel like it’s your accomplishment or mine?

This is exactly why this is a “misfit” based newsletter,

You’re not here to stay forever,

It’s only a short journey together until you read something that clicks and sets you free.

A thing that lets you go and sail your own winds.

(If that thing ever hits your waves, at least tell me what it is).

One piece of advice I hate is “Just don’t think about it & you’ll be fine…

I won’t be giving this thought justice if I write about it,

So it’s better to speak my mind out loud.
